I wasn't broke on the mines. I was doing the same fortnight on repeat and couldn't see the end of it. What changed wasn't the money — it was having someone actually show me what to do.
Construction first, then FIFO rosters.
With guidance, instead of guessing at it.
A laptop and my own hours.
Drive in, work the swing, drive out, do it again. I was working hard and making good money — that was never the problem. The problem was that none of it moved me any closer to getting out. It was a continuous loop, over and over, and I was never actually getting ahead.
I knew I wanted to do something online. I just had nobody showing me what to actually do — that was my roadblock. Not effort, not wanting it badly enough. I needed a vehicle to get me where I wanted to go, and someone who'd already driven it.
I'll talk about earning, because that's why most people start. But the part that actually changed things was becoming better outside of it — physically, mentally, and the people I put around me. We push each other on that as hard as anything else.
